MMPolytechnicien de formation, pilote de chasse puis chef d’entreprise, lorsque mes activités professionnelles m’en ont enfin laissé le temps, j’ai pu me consacrer à une formation en Reliure d’Art à l’AAAV, en suivant tout d’abord le cursus complet sur trois ans en Reliure puis en poursuivant par celui de Dorure. Diplômé de l’AAAV en Reliure et en Dorure, ancien membre du Conseil d’Administration, j’ai donc été invité à assurer – bénévolement – les cours tous niveaux du samedi matin. Ces cours, qui s’adressent à des amateurs ou futurs professionnels, se déroulent dans une ambiance à la fois rigoureuse et conviviale. La dorure est un art de précision mais aussi un loisir créatif. Un livre sans décor, doré ou non, est un livre nu ! Mes livres ont été souvent exposés au Salon du Livre Ancien de Saint-Germain-en-Laye. .

Former graduate from « Ecole Polytechnique » in France, then  Jet Pilot and CEO of an industrial company, I attended the complete bookbinding and gilding formation at the AAAV when I retired.

 

As a graduate of AAAV and former member of the Board of Directors, I was asked to provide as a volunteer the all-level Saturday morning courses.

These courses, both dedicated to amateurs and professionnal attendants, are dispensed in a rigorous but friendly atmosphere. Gilding is an art of accuracy but also a creative hobby.

A book without decoration, gilded or not, is a naked book !

 

My books were often exposed in the ancient-book exhibition at Saint-Germain- en-Laye (France).
